#weatherconfused

Basically weather confused is the best description of my life here in the New England area. One day it could be 38 degrees and then the next can be 61 degrees and rain. There is no consistency, leaving me here looking like the typical Californian, who everyone assumes can't dress appropriately for the cold weather. It is seriously amazing how many times I get asked if I own a "jacket" or if I have ever seen wicked & mad snow (if you got my joke there ..LOL), like I come from a forever beautiful state that stays consistently 85 degrees or something. I feel like I should just make a shirt that says, "I am from California: I own a jacket & I have seen snow before!" But that would just take the fun out of bragging about how awesome California is to the people who are totally clueless. Maybe I will grow into appreciating the beautiful fall weather, but for right now, the fall weather is like my winter back home where shorts and tights were acceptable for the winter. Honestly, I have no idea how I am going to survive the cold winter days, because if I am wearing layers upon layers for the fall weather, I am most definitely going to be a hibernating bear when the snow hits and the weather drops to 20 degrees. I am just hoping and praying that this winter will be a calm & peaceful ride. But after about the second week of this cold winter, I have tried to view the cold in a more positive outlook. I finally got to pull out clothes that I would never need to wear back at home. Finally getting the chance to explore the winter clothing and touch upon all of the cute winter outfits I could possible build from my oh so small dorm room closet and drawers. Definitely not excited for the thermometer to read such horrifyingly low temperature readings, however ecstatic to pull out my creativity and open a new page in my outfit arrangements. All I can ask for the people in Massachusetts  is to not judge me and forgive me for the trial and errors I am about to perform. In the meantime, I will be very accepting of all the strange stares and constant remarks on how I am going to die because I am that one girl who wears shorts when it rains or a dress when its 38 degrees outside. I am #weatherconfused.

Woof Woof

I went out to Chinatown to go eat authentic, only Chinese speaking, legit DimSum; which was definitely mouth watering and orgasmic.  Thank you Joie for taking me and introducing me to the best ones on the dimsun cart. LOL Literally without my friend I would be one of those losers who would look like a complete lost puppy and end up paying a ridiculous amount of money for dimsum that  I wouldn't remember or know what was inside. After eating, like the cool Bostonians my friends and I, ended up in downtown crossing to attempt to only spend $10 at H&M with our Wrapp gift certificates. That $10 limit definitely didn't happen for any of us, but the thought is all that counts right? Sigh .. the fact of being a broke college student is really getting to me as my bank account simmers down closer and closer to that inevitable $0. Well anyways, I was leisurely walking through H&M not looking for anything particular, until I found the shirt that I am wearing on the top picture. It was like love at first sight, not even caring that they didn't carry my size I decided to buy that heavenly shirt and make it somehow work. I find that I have a soft spot in my heart for the ugly cute dogs like the pugs, pekinese, boston terriers, and bulldogs. Just look at the beautiful graphics of a freaking cute little vulnerable pug puppy wearing a NYC beanie. I can't even deal. I am hoping the shirt shrinks a little with wash and wear, but nevertheless I will wear that shirt like there is no end of it. Definitely my favorite graphic tee in my closet, I am sorry Brandy Melville. MEEP I think part of the reason why the little (ironic though since the medium size shirt is huge on me) pug beanie shirt is because I had to leave my Yoda back at home 2000 miles away. I actually miss all my dogs & that feeling of coming back home from school to my lazy, not the best guard dog's den, to wake them up and have them pounce on me like it was the first time they have seen me in a while. I've always been and forever will be a dog person. <3 Can't wait until December to go hug them again!
Today wasn't as awesome as yesterday's fantastic find because I was woken up by a stupid fire drill in my dorm building that looks exactly like what a hipster would imagine a treehouse. They literally screamed that stupid alarm to wake me up at 9 AM and made me walk down 8 flights of stairs to go stand out on the wet cement for 20 minutes, only to find out that it was a drill. REALLY? The building couldn't wait until like a decent time like 12 to do the drill? I don't understand. I couldn't even go back to sleep because by the time the drill was done I had to get ready for chem and chem lab, which started at 11. All I ate today was a pint of clam chowder bowl and a small salad because my classes prevent me from having a lunch or dinner at an appropriate time, ending at 3. I have learned to get full off of spoonfuls of peanut butter and Nutella. SIGH Totally not part of that healthy no freshman 15 track, but I have a feeling I am going to end up giving up soon. So I didn't end up going out again because I didn't feel like dealing with the ride situation on the way back and trying to stumble myself back into my dorm room to wake up before noon. But I am totally  hyped up for tomorrow! ..  but I am not going to share it just yet because I plan on writing my experience about it tomorrow. So for all the party people out in Boston, have fun & be safe. To all my friends in the west coast, have a good dinner? LOL i don't know ..

"Rain Rain Go Away .. "

It is official. I hate New England weather. Deciding your wardrobe for the next day is totally pointless because the weather gods over on this side of the country are very confused. I swear it was hot and humid to the point where I just wanted to stay inside the air conditioned buildings and hide from the gusts of warm air that grabbed onto my body only two days ago. Then the next the weather seems to be perfect with the sun out, no humidity, and a nice cool breeze blowing through my hair, almost comparable to the beautiful California weather in the spring time. However today was something totally different. 65 degrees with high speed winds trying to knock me down, along with a shower of rain pouring down conveniently the same time I get out of class in the morning. Walking to my 8AM Expo class, I realized there was a slightly cold breeze, not thinking that it wouldn't even dare to rain because of the beautiful weather that took place just 24 hours ago. But I was totally wrong. I didn't realize that I was coming to Boston as a typical naive California girl. All I want is the scorching flames of the sun that all my friends and family are complaining about. It blows my mind that I am dressing in leggings and a knit cardigan in the 2nd week of September, when I would normally be dressed in high waisted shorts and light tank top along with a pair of slippers on my feet while taking spontaneous trips to the beach. For all I know, tomorrow's weather might consist of blazing hot lasers cooking the city of Boston. I will never understand this unique pattern. Besides that great rant about the horrible weather, I actually had a fantastic day! I have experienced the joy of having my first cancelled class. My Bio 151 class got cancelled so I ended my school day at 9:15 in the morning. (For Californians thats even before people woke up to go to school!) I ended up eating my millionth chicken salad wrap at the school cafeteria then I headed off with my roommate to Copley Square to go shopping on Newbury Street, which is officially my favorite place in Boston. We did a little shopping for necessary things and rode the T back to our dorm room. I got my 3rd college package in the mail which was a printer from my parents! Amazingly, I made that thing work without that much assistance. It is currently 10:34 PM and my roommate is still out on Boston's "Thirsty Thursday" night and I am just listening to Justin Bieber's acoustic album while I try to study for my chem class in the morning. Well tomorrow is going to be a long day of school, so wish me luck! Goodnight Boston & have a nice dinner California. <3

I miss home ..

Life seriously just got real. Last wednesday I got on a one way plane trip to go 2000 miles away from home to start a new adventure called COLLEGE. This last week has been really hectic and crazy with trying to settle into my ridiculously small dorm room to figuring out how to ride public transportation to get out of the circle of college students. Literally as I walk out of my "treehouse" all you can see is health professionals or college students wearing their school lanyards. The fashion here is so much different from back home. Sperrys, NorthFace, and Victoria Secret yoga pants seem like the only pieces of clothing in these people's closets. I feel like with my California style I stick out like a pin in a haystack, but I guess that has good and bad points to it. At night time all I hear are college students talking and emergency sirens going back. (one of the negatives of going to school in a medical community; HEHE but good thing I am a deep sleeper) I absolutely love my roommate and get along with her so well. She is totally the opposite from me but somehow we seem to mesh our personalities very well and I am very thankful for that. I started class yesterday and I can't say that I love college just yet. It seems like regular school to me so yeah .. LOOL Although going on Boston adventures, meeting new friends, and going to various amounts of social events is crazy fun, I still have all of my family and friends in the back of my mind every day. I didn't realize how much I relied on my family and friends to keep me sane and happy. I wouldn't say I don't like being independent, but leaving everyone back home was probably the hardest thing that I had to do in my whole life, especially my mom. I miss California weather, food, and all the people back home. Just be thankful for the many things your friends and family have done for you because when the time comes for you to be independent and realize what you don't have anymore, it will be too late to appreciate it. But thank god for FaceTime, ichat, and texting. I can't wait until December to come faster! Meanwhile, I am going to try my best to do well in college with my awesome new friends and try to post more blogs .. LOL we'll see :)

Flying Alone for the First Time ..

Current Status: Nervous, Excited, Scared, Confused .. all mixed together

So im sitting in the airport all by myself waiting for my red eye flight to Boston for orientation Day 1. I have never flown on an airplane by myself ever & adding the fact that I have to explore a state that is totally on the other side of the country doesn't help my feelings either. I've been on trips without my parents when I travelled for MUN East Coast trips, but honestly doing everything completely alone is a whole different feeling. I no longer have the safety net of my parents, an advisor showing me where to go, or the comfort of my friends always being there with me. But I am so ready for the adventure! Going through the whole airport procedure wasn't as hard as I thought it would be because all of the traveling I have done throughout my life. Hopefully it will be this easy for the public transit in Boston. sigh .. Wish me luck!

Wildfox Sample Sale!

It seriously seems like forever since I last blogged about my life. I have just been exploring & having adventures with all my friends as much as I can in California.Today was actually a very exciting day! So, for a very long time I have been wanting Wildfox to be added to my closet because the clothes are the cutest ever! But I haven't got myself to buy that $250 sweater or the $100 shirt from the stores or online, so when I saw that they were having a sample sale in LA, I knew that that trip was a must! I literally woke up at 7 to get ready and be in line before the line formed, but as I walked up at 8:10 the line was already around the Cooper Design building (keeping in mind that the actual sale started at 9). It was like chaos once the building opened because all of the crazy old women who were trying to fight their way up to the Splendid warehouse sale, which had to be in the same building. Actually, there was a lot of sales in that building today; like AG jeans, Big Star, and a lot of local LA designers. Once I was able to push my way up to the third floor of the building, I finally arrived at the Wildfox sample sale. Excited isn't even half of my emotions that went through my body as I was granted entrance into the small WIldfox office space. Like every other sample sale, everything was out of place and all over the floors but honestly scramming and digging through all the clothes in the gigantic piles is part of the fun of going to sample sales! (definitely besides the amazing prices!) I was successful at my trip spending only $80 on a black star sweater and a tan loose dress with a heart in the front (thank god I am still able to fit in kids sizes!) Which would have originally been about $200 in retail stores.. After the sample sale, I went to Wood Spoon; which is a delicious brazilian restaurant in LA. I had chicken coxinha, Brazilian sausage with rice. My parents got a beet salad with a brazilian chicken pot pie, which was also to die for. Overall my summer has been very adventurous and full of success! There hasn't been a day where I haven't done something  productive or fun, so my summer is definitely going the way I want it. Can't wait for tomorrow's adventure!

Newport Adventure

The task of satisfying your cravings to the fullest is hands down the best feeling ever. I am constantly on instagram and yelp trying to find delicious places to eat. Last night I was being spontaneous and decided that I wanted a sprinkles sundae. Sigh .. honestly I know that ice cream doesn't help me in any way, especially because I had mochilato the day before (which was surprisingly good! MUST TRY!). But I told myself that I would work the ice cream off later; which unfortunately did not happen LOL.(might as well start my freshman 15 a season earlier right?) I dragged my best friends all the way to newport beach with me just so I could have my red velvet ice cream with a red velvet cupcake, basically diabetes heaven in a cup. I would say I have a pretty big sweet tooth so Sprinkles Ice Cream was definitely worth the drive for me! After ice cream, we went down to the beach to dip our feet in the disgustingly cold Corona Del Mar water & dream about all the mansions we drove by.  Absolutely my life mission to eventually move down by the beach & own a house everyone wishes they could have! Despite my crying because of my inability & struggle to parallel park and the very steep hill we had to climb, today was definitely a success in my book! I even found my delightfully beautiful Getty Museum lookalike beach home. <3 Can't wait for another success fun summer adventure!

American Apparel Flea Market Heaven!

EEPPP! I have finally popped by American Apparel Factory Flea Market cherry. Ever since I saw that one coolkid wearing an American Apparel zip up jacket in the 6th grade, I knew I would fall in love with this store within an instant. The simplicity and homely feeling with the wear of these beautiful artworks just makes me wish I had all the money in the world to buy every single item in this store. But unfortunately, the price is real and basically the only reason why I can't have my closet full of American Apparel. Its so sad how the printed numbers on the price tag just rip my heart and soul away from them. Always waiting for incredible sales and discounts were becoming miracles that would never happen in the stores, so when I found out about the factory flea market, I knew I had to go and check it out! Of course I learn from the best, so I took my mom's yelping skills and looked up all the info of the factory's do's and dont's. The AA flea market is just something that you have to make a judgement of. Honestly, I didn't mind the no air conditioning and factory dirty floors because I was just in love with the discounts and the quality of the clothes. The shopping carts also help with the pile of clothes that you plan on trying on in their dressing rooms. (YES! AA is one the of only flea markets that I have been to that have dressing rooms available. Going on a Monday, it was definitely not busy at all and I was amazed how easily I was able to find my sizes. Usually, the stores run out of the XS or the 24 waist items so fast that when I go and look for my size they aren't there, so if you often find yourself in that situation, go & check out the flea market! The discounts are so real and make the clothing some what more affordable. If you are in love with American Apparel clothes, the $30 high waisted easy jean shorts will seem like heaven to you too! American Apparel is most definitely not a cheap Forever 21 or Foreign Exchange, but their local feeling, love, and great material are worth your investment.

Maui Days 3-7: See you later Maui

Day 3 was actually very adventurous. I finally learned how to surf! Watching the surf lessons before mine made me confident that I could stand up on my board and ride the small little waves too, but for some reason as I was dragging my surf board out onto the blazing hot sand, my conscience hit me. All my confidence was left on the sand and as I was dragged into the ocean by my cool hawaiian accent instructor, I was obligated to try standing on my board and riding a wave once. I am actually really glad that I actually went out because honestly it gives you a sense of rush and success when you successfully ride all the way to shore. Day 4 just consisted of going to my family's favorite local beach,: burning our pasty gangsta bodies, watching the local hawaiians skim board, and swimming with the turtles. Prior to going to Big Beach, we went to the Fairmont hotel in Wailea to pick up the shoyu chicken noodles along with the mango chicken on baguette bread. YUMM!! Day 5 was snorkeling day! My mom actually changed it up this trip and arranged a boat trip to Lanai to go snorkeling and cliff jumping! I saw turtles and a variety of fish, however the highlight of our snorkeling trip was swimming with all the wild dolphins! Definitely an experience that deserves the label of AMAZING! The dolphins weren't like the ones at SeaWorld, they were very in their own confortable environment showing off to all of the people on the snorkeling trip. Day 6 was one of those relaxing days. We rented cabanas at the hotel and enjoyed the sun hitting our skin as we ate pineapples and drank tons of water.  It was a nice way to enjoy the Maui weather that I will forever remember. Day 7 was bittersweet. Bitter because I know this might be the last family Maui trip that I will have with my family for a long time because I will be going off to college far away from home. Sweet because I know my summer adventures are going to start with all my friends at home! If you have never been to Maui, you should definitely go! You will not be disappointed with all the nice people, beautiful weather and amazing food. See you later Maui! Thank you for treating us out with all your love <3 Hopefully see you soon! Now.. I am back home hanging out with all my friends, getting ready for college, and attempting everything on my summer bucket list!

Maui Day 2

Day two definitely did not disappoint. I woke up at 6 in the morning to get down to the ziplining ranch in order to fly down the zip at 8 sharp. From our timeshare to the zipline office, it is only about a 30 minute drive without traffic, however with traffic, a one lane highway, and at hawaiian local driving speeds, our 30 minute journey took about an hour. However, the drive was absolutely worth it. As you look down off the 100 feet platform while you try to held back by a rope on the ziping line, your stomach fills inside out and your brain starts to second guess the ride, but once you let go and fly down a sense of relief and the realization of the beauty of the surroundings around you, make you forget of those inching minutes you had to wait while the crew made sure you were strapped & attached correctly. The experience was kind of like parasailing, intimidating at first, however it ends up feeling safe & adventurous. Of course I ate a lot of delicious food today. My mom is one of those people who actually YELPs restaurants, looking at the reviews and pictures, before she can even consider calling in for a reservation. And her yelping skills have not failed us yet! Coconut crusted shrimp, fresh market tuna sashimi, baby back pork ribs drizzled with tangy barbecue sauce, mahi mahi fish pan seared with a slight lemon drizzle made my families hearts and stomachs melt away into the build up of fat that we are going to gain from the delicious food. Hopefully our exercise throughout our trip will be enough to balance out all the food that we are devouring, but in reality I know that it is not enough. One reason I really love traveling with the parents, besides the endless amount of generosity in the spending department, is that they are never stingy on spending money on excellent food. I am very grateful that I have grown up with my parent's desire to advance their palates and that I am able to be a passenger on their journey, because without my parent's recommendations and teachings, I wouldn't appreciate food as much as I do now. Now only if my parents had the motivation to work off all the pounds of food, it would make my life so much easier. But nevertheless I am very appreciative and thankful that I have the parents that I have & wouldn't trade them for anyone else. Thank you for this trip mom & dad.

Maui Day 1: just the beginning

Day one in Maui was a success. I woke up considerable early at 8 in the morning to go parasailing along the coast line with my brother. The experience wasn't anything like how I planned it to be.. 1200 feet above ground, attached by a skinny wired parachute, flying against the ocean winds made me believe that parasailing was only something dare devils would attempt, but it was the complete opposite. 1200 feet above ground couldn't feel anymore safe and secure. It was actually very calming and a beauty to my eyes. The smell of the ocean and the beautiful scenery below was the best way to wake up in the morning. But parasailing was just the beginning. Today, my family & I went to the D.T Fleming Beach Park, where we swam in the warm & clear ocean, sun tanned our pale bodies, and ate a pick-nick of hawaiian poke and hawaiian plate lunch. I forgot my love for the markets on Hawaii. If you have never been inside of a Hawaiian food market, you definitely have to make it an event on your bucket list! Walking in at first it may seem like a regular grocery store, however venture farther into the heavenly arena, you will find all of the delicious & irresistible food displayed for you to devour. Literally like food heaven, but reality hits as soon as all that food is scanned & all the scanner has to say to your shocked face is, "Welcome to Maui!" It's amazing how one day on this beautiful island can make me already fall in love with everything it has to offer to me & I am looking forward for the activities & food to come. In Maui, its only 9 at night, but back home its already midnight: the start of a new day. It feels nice to be 3 hours behind from the timezone at home. But I have to go to sleep early tonight because I have to get up early & start my adventure for tomorrow. Goodnight Maui.

Maui: So close, yet so far

It seems like the airport is becoming second nature to me. This is like the 8th time I have had a boarding pass in my name, went through annoying security, and waisted my precious time for a flight that will take me outside of my comfort of California just this year. Its not like I don't like traveling; actually I love it! but I just don't like the waiting and the environment of people enclosed in one building. Next to me is my brother constantly touching and worrying about his chlorine damaged hair. In front of me is a girl wearing sunglasses inside of the airport terminal, acting like she is all cool, probably listening to some fan girl boy band.  Behind me is a middle eastern family with crying babies, attracting the attention of everyone in the terminal. When I am at the airport, something annoying always ends up happening to me for some odd apparent reason. SIGH .. For this trip, it was the brightness of my phone preventing me to scan it past the TSA man who permits my entrance into security. The struggle of airports. Today my destination is the beautiful and tropical: Maui, Hawaii. Feelings of excitement and nostalgia come to mind as I look at my electronic boarding ticket on my phone. Excitement because this year I am going to fly 1200 feet above ground parasailing above the island, eating amazingly delicious local hawaiian food, and spending a whole week with my brother; which I haven’t been able to do since he left my mom’s house. I feel a sense of nostalgia because it reminds me of all the family bonding time we used to have when I was a little girl on the beautiful island of Hawaii. I am definitely looking forward to feeling the humid air sink into my skin as soon as I get off the 5 hours plane ride. I am looking forward to swiping my timeshare key, opening the doors to my week home. I am looking forward to swimming in the clean Hawaiian pools and beaches, snorkeling with the variety of fish and turtles. I just can’t wait for Maui. Sitting in this airport makes Maui so close, yet so far from me.

HOMG! I JUST GRADUATED!!

HOMG!! Yesterday was definitely the biggest and most life changing experience of my life. I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL!! I managed to pull through 4 years of procrastination and some what dedication to finish off my high school career with high honors, a national honor society member, and an ABC Unified School District Distinguished Scholar. Honestly I don't remember what I was feeling as my name was called and as I walked across the stage because it was all so fast. I only remember hearing my family's unconditional love and cheers for me as I was walking into the field towards the ceremony. I remember waiting and listening to the songs and speeches of my principal and fellow peers, just waiting for the ceremony to end so I could run to my friends & watch the firework show with them. The speeches were somewhat memorable, our ASB president, Danny, said that our senior class was like crocodiles hatching from eggs in the swamp for some reason & our ASB Vice President, Tony, well he was just being his FOB grammar self. Nevertheless I love those 2 somewhat high achieving valedictorians & glad I got to know them really well. Only thoughts of relief and happiness come to mind when I think of that night because I know after this summer in Cerritos, I will be going 2000 miles away, across the country to the beautiful BOSTON with my Vivi. I FINALLY MADE IT!!
I know I am not going to miss going through my daily routine of waking up, picking up my neighbor, driving to school, honking at all the retarded asian parent drivers who think they have the right of way all the time, and walking like a zombie from class to class. But surprisingly there are some things that I will miss about high school. I am going to miss sharing journals with Vivi, Alice & Ganesh, trying not to sleep, looking to see if Tony & Angela came to class, and complaining about the articles in my first period senior MUN class. I am going to miss walking to 2nd and 3rd period with Scott, talking about random things and making fun of how girls dress at school. I am going to miss venting to Angela about all the AP Lit assignments while Kevin tries to steal her attention away from me. I am going to miss sitting in front of the beautiful Jessica being all confused about our BC openers. I am going to miss seeing all my FOB friends at snack, pretending to understand everything they are saying. I am going to miss my 4th period Mr. B gang, Arnelle, Kalyani, and Jessie, cheating on our photoshop assignments. I am going to miss pretending to be studious pharmacy students with my 5th period boys: Mikael, Andrew, Brian. I am going to miss laughing with Mr. Turek & all the little juniors with all his nerdy jokes and fun iron man shirt fridays. And most of all I am going to miss seeing my best friends: Nancy, Nicole, Marisa, Consta, & Samsta every single day laughing and talking about random things that girls would usually talk about. I guess there is a lot I am going to miss about high school & I am proud of every single one of my friends, especially the ones who made high school more than learning. Seriously love you all & see you all sometime in my summer adventures before I leave! CONGRATS EVERYONE! PEACE OUT SUCKAS!

"It's going to be too real graduating tomorrow..."

"It's going to be too real graduating tomorrow, hearing your name be announced, the turning of the tassel, and knowing that people will be going their different ways after four years together." No matter what way, when, or how you feel the day before an important day, there will always be a sense of unity with those words amongst the people involved. Tomorrow is my high school graduation, the start of summer, and the day my easy world becomes reality. All I see on facebook and instagram are all the longing and excited feelings of everyone posting of what is to come. Some are frantically trying to buy more graduation tickets for their humongous families and others are congratulating the Class of 2013 on a successful journey to the end. For me, my feels towards graduating high school are way past excitement! I wasn't the most popular person, the smartest student, or the most involved in school, but I still found a way to connect and meet amazing people to help me have a decent high school experience. If you were to talk to me at school, you would know that the first thing that you would probably here me say is that I was either tired or that I hated school. But thinking about graduation and leaving high school scares me and makes me consider if I was really that tired or if I hated school that much. These mixed feelings about tomorrow will hopefully clear up once I walk up as my name is announced to receive my empty diploma frame, because I won't be get my official diploma until Friday.  LOL Nevertheless, whether I got to know them or not, I am proud of my graduating class and wish them the best for their future. And to all my close & best friends, I know they are going to go far and achieve what they want because people like them are undoubtably capable to tackle every obstacle the world throws at them. I seriously love them all & I don't know how my high school career would have lasted without them. Class of 2013, WE ARE ALMOST DONE!

GradNite 2013

Saying I have an obsession for Disney might be considered an understatement. I basically grew up watching disney movies & disney channel, memorizing the story lines and songs in every single one. I have no shame when I say I go to Disneyland at least once a week, sometimes just for a food run with my best friend, Nicole, because we get 20% off with our annual passes. Every time I am swiped into the magical land by the friendliest people in Orange County, I still feel the indescribable feeling as if it was my first visit to Disneyland. For the past 2 months, Nicole & I have gone every Friday just to watch the workers set up the dance floors for Grad Nite, just wishing that our school's Grad Nite would come a little faster. But slowly but surely, our GradNite had arrived and there couldn't have been a better way I could spend it than with my best friends. We rode Radiator Spring Racers, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Midway Mania, and Indiana Jones all within the 4 hours before midnight when the dances started, and if you have ever been to Disneyland on a Friday night with no fast passes, riding those four rides is considered a miracle. How we got to do all that will remain a mystery. The clock struck midnight and 3 hours disappeared within a blink of an eye and I was back on the school bus to school. Despite my runny nose, sore body, and extremely tired state for my last all nighter as a high school senior, regret is far from desire and thoughts. Disneyland Grad Nite 2013 was a night that I will never forget.

closing one chapter to start a new one

Unforgettable. The experiences and memories made throughout my four years of high school has come to a close. Feelings of joy and excitement of not having to wake up at 6:30 in the morning, not having anymore homework and projects, or not having to deal with anymore irrelevant high school drama just enlightens my day like no other. Although, the overwhelming feeling of sadness and closure hasn't hit me like it has with many other students at my school. I didn't cry as I took my last pictures with many of my classmates. I didn't start to reminisce about the amazing footsteps and knowledge I have gained from my teachers. Instead, I am looking at my future. Sure, I will miss all the people I have met in high school who have helped me learn and grow and I want to thank them for everything (good or bad) they have let me experience and remember, but I am not sad because I know the people who are worth my tears are those who are going to stay in my life for a little longer. High school is a chapter in my life book. Leaving high school is a setting change, my classmates and teachers represent minor characters, and the main friends who were there for me through my ups and downs will hopefully start to develop into the main characters. And we all know that the main characters are in the book to stay. Leaving high school is not closing an entire book, but its essentially closing one chapter so that I could start a new one.
